İzleyiciler konuşmacının sözlerini alkışladı.

Audience opera, tiyatro, televizyon programındaki veya birinin konuşmasını dinleyen kişiler anlamında dinleyiciler, izleyiciler demektir. Spectator ise daha çok bir spor müsabakasını izleyen kişiye denir. Audience bir topluluk ismidir, yani birden çok kişiyi gösterir ve çoğul eylem alır. Oysa spectator tek bir kişiyi belirtir.
