neither ... nor ...

Yanlış : Neither he nor his sister wasn’t at the wedding.

Doğru : Neither he nor his sister was at the wedding.

Ne o ne kız kardeşi düğündeydi.

Yanlış : Neither my parents nor my friends couldn’t understand me.

Doğru : Neither my parents nor my friends could understand me.

Ne annem babam ne arkadaşlarım beni anlayabildi.

Neither ... nor ... yapısı olumsuzdur, kendisinden sonra olumsuz fiil getirilmez. Bu yapıdan sonra tekil fiil kullanılır, ancak konuşma dilinde çoğul fiil de kullanılabilir.

Neither Ahmet nor Mehmet was in the office.

Ne Ahmet ne Mehmet bürodaydı.

Neither Ahmet nor Mehmet were in the office.
