anywhere – everywhere

Yanlış : I had a very good time anywhere I went in Paris.

Doğru : I had a very good time everywhere I went in Paris.

Paris’te gittiğim her yerde çok iyi vakit geçirdim.

Yanlış : I looked anywhere for my key and in the end I found it in my bag.

Doğru : I looked everywhere for my key and in the end I found it in my bag.

Anahtarım için her yere baktım ve sonunda onu çantamda buldum.

Her yer anlamında anywhere belirteci değil everywhere kullanılır. Anywhere sözcüğünün daha çok olumsuz ve sorularda kullanıldığına dikkat ediniz.

Yanlış : Did you go to anywhere at the weekend?

Doğru : Did you go anywhere at the weekend?

Hafta sonunda bir yere gitiniz mi?

Yanlış : I've lost his address. I can't find it at anywhere.

Doğru : I've lost his address. I can't find it anywhere.

Anywhere sözcüğü, hiçbir yerde, hiçbir yere anlamına geldiği için, to veya at gibi yönelme veya kalma durumu gösteren ilgeçlerle kullanılmaz.
