WITNESS
A witness is a person who has firsthand knowledge or information about an event or situation and can provide testimony or evidence about it. Witnesses are often called upon to provide statements in legal proceedings, such as trials, hearings, or investigations.

Witnesses may be called by either the prosecution or the defense in a legal case, and their testimony can be used to support or refute the claims made by either side. In some cases, witnesses may also be called to provide information about an event or situation in a non-legal context, such as in a news report or documentary.

There are several types of witnesses, including:

Eyewitnesses: people who saw an event or situation with their own eyes.
Expert witnesses: people who have specialized knowledge or expertise in a particular area and can provide testimony based on that expertise.
Character witnesses: people who can testify to a person's character or reputation.
Hearsay witnesses: people who can testify about what someone else said or did, but who did not witness the event themselves.
In general, witnesses play an important role in helping to establish the facts of a case and ensure that justice is served.
