ASSIMILATION
1. The process of absorbing and integrating new information, experiences, or ideas into one's existing understanding or knowledge base. This can refer to cognitive assimilation (the way people learn and understand new concepts) or cultural assimilation (the process by which an individual or group adopts the cultural practices and values of another).
2. (biology) Te process by which organisms convert nutrients or other substances into a usable form for growth, repair, or energy production.
